Education, Credentials, Training and Experience
I earned a BA in Psychology from Georgia State University in 2003. I obtained my MS in Mental Health Counseling in 2008 from Capella University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia, and I am a certified Tele-Health Mental Health Professional (TPMC) in Florida. I earned a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) credential in 2016. I am also Ketogenic and Intermittent Fasting (IF) Coach certified since 2025, as well as Dr. Georgia Ede's Ketogenic Diets for Mental Health Clinician Training.
I have extensive training and experience using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT) strategies and Trauma-Informed Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TI-CBT). I also have experience and trainings in Analytical Psychology (Jung), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), received a Level 1 Gottman strategies certification, as well as Clinical Training for Ketogenic Diets for Mental Health. I have participated in hundreds of continuing education units (CEUs) to maintain my professional license to further advance my knowledge and education.
Regarding my experience, I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, young adults and adults in my 23-year career. I have worked in a short-term and long-term psychiatric hospital with children, adolescents and adults. I have worked in an intensive outpatient (IOP) facility providing substance abuse and addiction assessments, individual, family and group counseling services. I have been in private practice for approximately 15-years, and have provided individual, couples, family and group counseling to children, adolescents and adults. I have conducted thousands of assessments/evaluations in various capacities in my career. I have provided group counseling for adolescents in an Accountability and Substance Abuse Court (ASAC) program. I have extensive experience providing counseling services for children and adolescents involved with the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS0 and the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ). In addition, I have 15-years of experience testifying in Juvenile Court, Probate Court and Superior Court as an expert witness.
In my 23-year experience, I have provided counseling and assessments/evaluations for individuals, couples, families and groups that struggle with: anxiety, depression, grief/loss, AD/HD, Autism Spectrum, executive functioning, emotional dysregulation, impulse control, OCD, Bipolar, Cluster B personality disorders/traits, PTSD, trauma, child abuse/neglect, divorce, co-parenting, blended families, anger management, domestic violence, relationship/family conflict, conduct and oppositional defiance, alcohol addiction, drug addiction, food addiction, nutrition internet/pornography addiction, stress management, suicidal ideations, intrusive thoughts, adjustment disorders, goal setting, career transitions and career development.
